Canon EOS R6 Full Frame Mirrorless

The R6 is the video beast that the RP and R weren’t. Coming out alongside the Canon R5, the R6 borrows many similar features while remaining positioned for pros and enthusiasts alike. My main shooter.

CanonRF-1.jpg

Canon EOS RP Full Frame Mirrorless

The most affordable full frame mirrorless offering from Canon. Pairs with the great new RF lenses and the classic EF lenses you already have with an adapter. The new RF 50mm is a bargain. My second shooter.

Canon RF70-200mm F4 L IS USM

The RF 70-200mm F4 is the compact, more affordable version of one of the flagship RF lenses (the F2.8 70-200). Only slightly larger than the 24-105 below, this is the telephoto zoom that can go with you anywhere.

CanonRF-4.jpg

Canon RF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM Lens

An all-around BEAST! If you can only get one, this is it. Not the fastest at f/4 but this lens has an excellent zoom range and is nice and sharp. Sometimes I only pack this.

Canon EF 100mm f/2.8L IS USM Macro Lens

This is my favorite lens and first L Lens. It’s a macro that allows for close focusing and long range. I hope to use this for years to come on my RP with an adapter.

CanonRF-2.jpg

Canon RF 35mm F1.8 Macro IS STM

Much wider macro than the 100mm but one that I use all the time. This would also be a great first lens for all around shooting and has a nice fast aperture of f/1.8 (for those nice blurry backgrounds).

CanonRF-3.jpg

Samyang AF 14mm F2.8 Wide Angle

An extremely wide angle prime lens with a fast enough aperture for astro photography and a close focusing distance. It also remains quite light and fairly compact for such a wide angle lens.

Peak Design Travel Tripod (Carbon Fiber)

Expensive, but this has been nothing short of fantastic. On-site shoots, walking around, hiking… it provides tons of flexibility and sturdiness given it’s super compact size and weight. Great carrying bag included. Peak design has a great selection of accessories as well for a whole system. Pair with the wrist strap and their capture clip and you’ll transition seamlessly from tripod to wrist to shoulder strap mount.

New Apple MacBook Air with Apple M1 Chip

I use the big rig for most of my photo and video editing, but this is my ultra portable and powerful notebook. Flawlessly runs your Discord, Slack, Trello, Messenger, Docs and the like. Almost instant start up and it plays nicely in the ecosystem, as you would expect.

YouTube Lav Mic & iPhone Adapter

This is what I use for my YouTube audio. With an adapter, I record directly into a voice memo on my iPhone.

RebelT7i.jpg

Canon Rebel T7i

My first camera <3 Paired with the EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 IS USM, this is a solid starter rig. I used this for numerous paid shoots and was filming for YouTube with on the wider focal range of that lens as well.

Canon EF 50mm… f/1.4 or f/1.8?

I’ve previously owned the f/1.4 and the f/1.8. In fact, the “nifty fifty” f/1.8 was my very first lens paired with the Rebel T7i. The f/1.4 is cool and I used it more on my RP, but I would stick to the value, f/1.8 option. Just watch the video.
